If you’ve never heard of the longtime Portland band, Smoochknob, where’ve you been?
Moving out from the midwest in 1997, Donnie came to Portland and showed our city his passion for music. Now, Smoochknob packs venues in Portland –oh, and everywhere else they go.
On March 19th, the band released their most recent single, “Meet Me Halfway,” which Donnie wrote while his wife was eight months pregnant with their second child. Their latest album release show, for their seventh album, was on Saturday the 23rd at The Analog Cafe, a new venue owned by Donnie and Havi, on SE Hawthorne and 7th in Portland. The album officially hit the internet airwaves the following Tuesday.
On another note, you need to check out The Analog Cafe & Little Theater. This venue is built by musicians for musicians. The sound is phenomenal, the staff raises the bar on hospitality, the food is top notch and there’s plenty of options for drinks, even if you’re on a budget. Watch out Portland, The Analog Cafe is on track to be the model Portland music venue.
